A message to our Frederick Foot & Ankle community,
As we navigate through the current coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we will continue, as we always have, to practice infection control. For Frederick Foot & Ankle the health and safety of our patients and team members is our top priority. With that in mind, we are taking steps to be extra vigilant about the propagation of COVID-19. We are following the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO).
If you have a fever, are feeling short of breath, or have other flu-like symptoms, do not come in to the office, please call us to reschedule your appointment. All cancellation fees waived. If you are healthy, there’s no need to cancel your regularly scheduled appointment. However, if you have been exposed to someone who was diagnosed with COVID-19 or quarantined as a precaution, it can take 14 days for symptoms to appear. If possible, please limit the amount of family members or guests who may attend your appointment.
The waiting room, all door handles and counter tops are disinfected frequently. We have added Lysol wipes in the check-in and check-out areas for your convenience. Before you enter the exam room, all surfaces (exam chair, drawer handles and counter tops) will have been cleaned and disinfected and floors have been swept. Some equipment may be covered with protective covers that are replaced after each patient. Before seeing you in the exam room, your healthcare provider(s) will have washed their hands and put on a new pair of gloves. The instruments are placed through the autoclave for cleaning after each patient.
We have three restrooms and hand sanitizer in each exam room available for patient use before and/or after their appointment. We want to reassure you that we will continue to maintain regular operations as long as it’s considered safe. We will keep you posted if anything changes.
Our team members are here to answer any questions you may have. Please do not hesitate to give us a call, text, or message us on our website (www.mynewfeet.com).

P.S. Here are a few things you can do to help keep yourself and those around you healthy:
Wash all surfaces of your hands for 20 seconds, or use a hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent ethyl alcohol. Hand wash often.
Avoid touching your face, eyes or nose to reduce the spread of germs.
Cover your cough or sneeze with your elbow. Infections like the coronavirus spread through the tiny droplets in coughs and sneezes.
Rather than hug or shake hands, touch elbows or practice other safer forms of greeting.
Stay home if you feel sick. If you have flu-like symptoms or otherwise feel unwell, stay home and rest. Call our office to reschedule your appointment for a later date. This will reduce the risk of spreading your illness.
People older than 60 are more at risk of death than children. Children can spread the disease even if their symptoms are mild.
Call your primary care provider if you have symptoms of COVID-19.
