Morton's Neuroma

General Information

Morton's NeuromaNerves that run in the ball of the foot and send branches to the toes are frequently inflamed, causing cramping, numbness, tingling, burning, etc. This was treated by anti-inflammatory pills, injections, shoe modifications, arch supports/orthotics, and injections of cortisone. After 3 injections and no resolution, surgery was usually the only other treatment option. For the last several years, we have been using a treatment that has been around for almost 30 years where dehydrated alcohol injections are given directly into the nerve. This is done to destroy the lining of the nerve and resolve symptoms WITHOUT SURGICAL REMOVAL of the damaged nerve. Benefits include no changes in activities, shoes, nor any surgical recovery/disability.
